2012–2019
LeavingRoom · 15–18 October 2026
In August 2026 the house passed to Rossinant. Before the next chapter begins, it opens its doors one last time for LeavingRoom.

LeavingRoom is a temporary exhibition about three periods of one house. Koen Broos bought De Brouwerstraat 5 in 2003, converted it and lived there with his photo studio. From 2012 to 2026 it was home to the eyeLoco gallery, and since August 2026 it has belonged to Rossinant. Koen Broos shows work from his cultural projects and, for the first time, Penumbra, his commissioned work. eyeLoco artists return to the former gallery space, and Meryem Bayram, an affiliated artist of Rossinant, opens the next chapter of the house.

A home for photography in Berchem
eyeLoco opened in May 2012 at De Brouwerstraat 5 in Berchem as a platform for photography: a gallery, workshops, a bookshop and a lounge. It was founded by Benny Lanoizélé and Jane Seynaeve.
The gallery showed fine-art photography, from its opening exhibition, 30 Years of Polaroids by Bruno Bisang, to solo shows by Liesbet Waegemans and Elke Andreas Boon, among others. For fourteen years the house was both a home and a meeting place for photographers, collectors and curious neighbours.

EXHIBITIONS 2012–2018
The eyeLoco workshops were led by Anouk van de Wal, Benoît Meeus and Maité Thijssen, together with Annick Van de Voorde, Dana Van Oeteren, Greet Moens and Noortje Palmers.
To everyone who walked through this door over the years: the artists who trusted us with their work, the collectors, the neighbours, the workshop participants and the team that carried it all, thank you, from the heart. You made this house what it was. It has been a privilege.
